Why Use Wheel-Balancer to Balance Your Tyres?

If the wheels on your vehicle are not balanced correctly it may cause plenty of issues including-

Uncomfortable vibrations- The drive is not smooth & the handling does not feel as it ought to.

Wearing of the suspension & steering- The suspension is necessary more to compensate for the uneven balancing of the tyres.

Wearing of the tyres- If unbalanced the tyres can wear more on side or in positive areas of the tyre, depending on the fitting.

These issues may cause more cost in the long run as well as hassle of having other parts of the automobile fixed. The additional time spent on wheel balancing is well worth it. New tyres may appear expensive but they can save you a lot money in repairs, as well as ensuring your safety. And most garages have wheel balancing machines that will correctly fit tyres all inclusive of the cost. It well worth that the garage that you are using has of these machines.
A wheel balancing machine rotates the tyre & wheel whilst calculating the location & the weight. Of work there’s different types of wheel balancing machines.

You can tell when your wheels are not balanced correctly because the steering wheel can wobble at speed & the steering wheel does not hold as it normally does.
My advice is to ring the garage first & check what wheel balancing options they have. The larger garages will probably have the more sophisticated machines, but may be more expensive. Your safety is by far most important though.

Some are calibrated by humans, so the machine is programmed to do what it is told. Some more sophisticated machines measure & balance the wheel automatically without human interception. It can be debatable which is more reliable. Human error is more likely, but if a machine is calibrated incorrectly in the first place this may cause even more trouble. You could debate that if a person was to calibrate a tyre then they would notice if something was wrong, than relying on the machine.
